MODEL VARIANT INFORMATION
The following information is required to distinguish between the variants of a model. In this way, we can consider even small variations and process the data accordingly.
1. Brand name
Specify the brand name of the product so we can customize the recommendations to your brand.
1.1 Intended use
We use the brand name to uniquely describe a product variant in our internal data system. In addition, the information provided is used in a consistent format to create a filter that customers can use to narrow their search.
1.2 Examples
Header | brand |
---|---|
Data | Scott, Bold, Focus, ... |
2. Model name
The model name given by the manufacturer is the basis to clearly identify the product you are selling.
2.1 Intended use
We use the model name to uniquely describe a product variant in our internal data system. In addition, the information provided is used in a consistent format to create a filter that customers can use to narrow their search.
2.2 Examples
Header | model |
---|---|
Data | Unplugged Ultimate, Spark RC SL, … |
3. GTIN/ MPN
The model name given by the manufacturer is the basis to clearly identify the product you are selling.
3.1 Intended use
The Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) or the Manufacturer Part Number (MPN) help us to uniquely identify your product.
3.2 Examples
Header | gtin | mpn |
---|---|---|
Data | 4000990402378 4054571385611 | B0237OS1 402590-SPO-CS-983-SF |
4. Color
Information about the color allows us to further distinguish the variants of a model.
4.1 Intended use
We use the color to uniquely describe a product variant in our internal data system.
4.2 Examples
Header | color |
---|---|
Data | Candy Red Flakes, MRC, RED |
5. Year
Information on the year of release allows us to differentiate between the variants of a model between years and ensure that the data is up to date.
5.1 Intended use
We use the year to uniquely describe a product variant in our internal data system. In addition, the information provided is used in a consistent format to create a filter that customers can use to narrow their search.
5.2 Examples
Header | year |
---|---|
Data | 2023 |
5.3 Optional data source
If not explicitly stated, the year that logically makes sense at that time is used. This is usually the current year, towards the end of the year possibly the coming year.
6. Model size
The model size is an important information when making recommendations to customers. Regardless of the format you use, we can use the sizes you provide to distinguish variants of the model and calculate our recommendations.
6.1 Intended use
We use the model size as an input to the recommendation calculations. In addition, the bike size is presented to the customer in a consistent format.
6.2 Examples
Header | Model size |
---|---|
Data | S, M, L 48, 51, 60 |
7. Wheel size
The wheel size is also an important information when making recommendations to customers. We use the data you provide to distinguish model variants and as input for our calculated recommendations.
7.1 Intended use
We use the wheel size as an input to the recommendation calculations. In addition, the wheel size is presented to the customer in a consistent format.
7.2 Examples
Header | Wheel size |
---|---|
Data | 27.5, 29 700 275 |
8. Frame shape
The frame shape also has a major influence on the calculation of the recommendations.
8.1 Intended use
We use the frame shape to uniquely describe a product variant in our internal data system to calculate the recommendations according to the individual frame shape. In addition, the information provided is used in a consistent format to create a filter that customers can use to narrow their search.
8.2 Examples
Header | Frame shape |
---|---|
Data | trapeze, diamond hardtail, full suspension |
TARGET GROUP INFORMATION
The following information is required to determine the target customer for the model. This will allow us to tailor the recommendations to the customer in the best possible way.
9. Gender
Since people of different genders differ in terms of body geometry, these anthropometric differences are considered in the sizing process. To make a meaningful recommendation for the bike, it is important to know for which gender a particular bike was developed.
9.1 Intended use
The information provided is used in a consistent format to create a filter that allows customers to narrow their search.
9.2 Examples
Header | gender |
---|---|
Data | F, M, U lady, man |
10. Age
Since the sizing of children's bikes differs with that of adults, it is important to know the age group for which a bike is intended.
10.1 Intended use
We use the age specification to distinguish between adult and children's bikes and exclude children's bikes from the general calculations. Kids sizing is available for children's bike calculations.
10.2 Examples
Header | age |
---|---|
Data | adult, youth, child |
11. Bike type
Bicycles are sized differently depending on their intended use (e.g., MTB Trail vs. MTB Enduro). Let us know in which category you would sort the corresponding bike, so that we can keep as close as possible to your specifications when sizing.
11.1 Intended use
The information provided on the bike type is used in a consistent format to create a filter that allows customers to narrow their search.
11.2 Examples
Header | type |
---|---|
Data | Trekking, Road, Gravel, Trail, Enduro, … |
11.3 Optional data source
To assign a bike to a type, all available information is used. The more precisely you specify the type, the more closely we reflect your classification.
12. E-Bike
Anyone looking for an e-bike would also like to have e-bikes suggested as part of their search. To offer this pre-sorting to the customer, we sort e-bikes into a separate group.
12.1 Intended use
The information provided is used in a consistent format to create a filter that allows customers to narrow their search.
12.2 Examples
Header | motor | type |
---|---|---|
Data | Bosch | E-Bike |
12.3 Optional data source
Bikes with a specified engine specification are considered to be e-bikes.
